About Us

For 30 years, Santon Workwear has been at the forefront of providing exceptional quality workwear solutions across Africa. Founded in 1995 by Hylton Pechey and Sandy Pechey, local entrepreneurs with a vision to supply contractors with reliable, durable workwear, our company has grown from humble beginnings to become a trusted name across the continent. The name “Santon” itself is derived from the founders’ names – “San” from Sandy and “ton” from Hylton – representing the strong partnership at the heart of our business.
In 2006, Sandy Pechey took firm reins on managing the business as a whole, and made the bold decision to incorporate her young sons into company. This brave move proved pivotal for the business’s ability to scale up, demonstrating the transformative power of having a woman’s leadership within the organization. In 2004, Lee Pechey joined the business, initially as a salesman, bringing fresh energy and new ideas. Then, in 2006, Warren Pechey followed, ensuring the company had the leadership to support its rapid growth. Together, as a family-driven team, we’ve steadily built a business rooted in the values of integrity, quality, and service.
Our commitment to exceptional quality and performance is embodied in our comprehensive range of products, which cater to diverse workplace needs:Â
Endurance Workwear – Our flagship SABS Approved collection, engineered to meet the strictest safety and quality standards.
Titan Workwear – Premium-grade protection for demanding environments where performance cannot be compromised. This range includes:Â
• Dura-Texâ„¢240 – Everyday workwear crafted from our specialized 65/35 Polycotton blend
• HACCP compliant workwear: designed specifically for the hospitality industry.
• Homegrown Range – Purpose-designed bushwear for African conditions, combining functionality with protection against the elements.Â
At the heart of our success is our network of dedicated resellers spanning the African continent. These valued partners have been the backbone of our business from day one, playing an instrumental role in ensuring our products reach workforces across Africa. With their continued support, the directors can focus on driving the operations of the company and maintaining an open-door policy, allowing for direct communication with our stakeholders at every level.Â
The Next 30 Years & Beyond
As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we remain committed to innovation, quality, and supporting the industries that build and sustain our communities. When you choose Santon Workwear, you’re not just choosing top-quality workwear – you’re choosing three decades of expertise, family values, and a legacy of excellence.
Looking ahead, our promise remains the same: to continue designing and manufacturing high-quality garments tailored for the hardworking people of South Africa and the African continent as a whole. We take great pride in equipping those who power our economies with gear they can trust, day in and day out.
Our resellers dedication and belief in our products have helped carry us through every chapter of this journey. As we step into the future, we’ll continue to grow together, delivering durable, reliable workwear to every corner of the continent.Â
Meet the Team
We’re not just a team — we’re a well-oiled machine fueled by fabric, laughter, and way too much coffee. From pattern makers who dream in stitches to sales pros who could sell a boiler suit to a beachgoer, every member of our Santon family brings passion, precision, and a bit of personality to the table.
We take our work seriously… but not ourselves. So whether we're designing the next best workwear piece or arguing over who makes the best braai, know this: behind every garment is a crew that truly cares (and probably has matching overalls).
Our hammarsdale heroes
Building Community Through Employment
At the heart of our success is our dedicated team from the Hammarsdale community. Their skill, commitment, and local knowledge have been instrumental in our growth and in maintaining the high quality of our products. Most of our team is hired directly from the Hammarsdale community, with over 300 people employed to date. This significant workforce contributes to local employment, skills development, community upliftment, and general improvement of the environment in which we operate. We’re proud of the positive impact our hiring practices have on both our business and the broader community.
